Yep, I knew it! I'm a freak. [Dec. 13th, 2006|08:11 pm]
[mood | melancholy]

Freak- INFJ
33% Extraversion, 53% Intuition, 46% Thinking, 66% Judging
Well, well, well. How did someone like you end up with the least common personality type of them all? In a group of 100 Americans, only 0.5 others would be just like you. You really are one of a kind... In fact, I do believe that that's one of the definitions for the word "FREAK."

Freak's not such a bad word to describe you actually.

You are deep, complex, secretive and extremely difficult to understand. If that doesn't scream "Freak!" I don't know what does. No-one actually knows the REAL you, do they?

You probably have deep interests in creative expression as well as issues of spirituality and human development.

You've probably even been called a "psychic" before, because of your uncanny knack to understand and "read" people without quite knowing how you do it. Don't fret. You're not actually psychic. That would make you special and you'll never accomplish that.

You're also quite possible the most emotional of them all, so don't take this all too hard. Nevertheless you most definitely have the strangest personality type and that's not necessarily a good thing.

Vampires! [Jun. 9th, 2006|07:35 am]
[mood |awake]
[music |just the hum of the air purifier]

Yay! So excited this weekend to be attending the PDX, Vampire Masquerade Ball. My friend indisbelief and I will be heading out early Saturday morning to get to our hotel room and be ready on time. You know us girls, that could take awhile :) Hope to have lots of fun, dance much and take lots of pictures (which I hope to learn to post one of these days). Just hope the car makes it there and back again with no problems. Did great on the recent trip to San Francisco so all should be well.

A good friend sent this to me and I wanted to share [Jan. 2nd, 2006|09:38 am]
A young woman went to her mother and told her about her life and how things were so hard for her. She did not know how she was going to make it and wanted to give up. She was tired of fighting and struggling. It seemed as one problem was solved, a new one arose.

Her mother took her to the kitchen. She filled three pots with water and placed each on a high fire. Soon the pots came to boil. In the first she placed carrots, in the second she placed eggs, and in the last she placed ground coffee beans. She let them sit and boil, without saying a word.

In about twenty minutes she turned off the burners. She fished the carrots out and placed them in a bowl. She pulled the eggs out and placed them in a bowl. Then she ladled the coffee out and placed it in a bowl.

Turning to her daughter, she asked, "Tell me what you see"

"Carrots, eggs, and coffee," she replied.

Her mother brought her closer and asked her to feel the carrots. She did and noted that they were soft. The mother then asked the daughter to take an egg and break it. After pulling off the shell, she observed the hard-boiled egg. Finally, the mother asked the daughter to sip the coffee. The daughter smiled as she tasted its rich aroma. The daughter then asked, "What does it mean, mother?"

Her mother explained that each of these objects had faced the same adversity- boiling water. Each reacted differently. The carrot went in strong, hard, and unrelenting. However, after being subjected to the boiling water,it softened and became weak. The egg had
been fragile. Its thin outer shell had protected its liquid interior, but after sitting through the boiling water, its inside became hardened. The ground coffee beans were unique, however. After they were in the boiling water, they had changed the water.

"Which are you?" she asked her daughter. "When adversity knocks on your door, how do you respond? Are you a carrot, an egg or a coffee bean?"

Think of this: Which am I? Am I the carrot that seems strong, but with pain and adversity do I wilt and become soft and lose my strength?

Am I the egg that starts with a malleable heart, but changes with the heat? Did I have a fluid spirit, but after a death, a breakup, a financial hardship or some other trial, have I become hardened and stiff? Does my shell look the same, but on the inside am I bitter and tough with a stiff spirit and hardened heart?

Or am I like the coffee bean? The bean actually changes the hot water, the very circumstance that brings the pain. When the water gets hot, it releases the fragrance and flavor. If you are like the bean, when things are at their worst, you get better and change the situation around you.

When the hour is the darkest and trials are their greatest, do you elevate yourself to another level? How do you handle adversity? Are you a carrot, an egg or a coffee bean?

May you have enough happiness to make you sweet, enough trials to make you strong, enough sorrow to keep you human and enough hope to make you happy.

The happiest of people don't necessarily have the best of everything; they just make the most of everything that comes along their way. The brightest future will always be based on a forgotten past; you can't go forward in life until you let go of your past failures and heartaches.

When you were born, you were crying and everyone around you was smiling. Live your life so at the end, you're the one who is smiling and everyone around you is crying.

It is easier to build a child than to repair an adult...

May we all be coffee :)

Happy Holidays Everyone! [Dec. 24th, 2005|08:56 pm]
I just spent my Christmas Eve delivering presents and baking many, and I mean many cookies with my good friends indisbelief and sweetdenial. Got to take some home of course ;) Ryan volunteered to work today but he will be home soon and in for a treat. So many sweets to choose from. I'm sure we will both have tummy aches tomorrow :)

It's been one of those weeks [Aug. 19th, 2005|09:15 pm]
Going camping again this weekend to celebrate a good friends birthday. It is a much needed mini vacation for me as well. I intend to have a very good time :)

Wedding plans are coming along. Almost got everything in order, including the sending of the invitations. There were lots of little pieces of paper as well as way too many envelopes but I got it right, I think. I have new friend who is designing and makeing the jewelry I will be wearing. Thanx to gluv71 for introducing us. Finally saw Ryan all dressed his tux. He looked quite stunning. We shall make a wonderful pair.

I'm really looking forward to having all my family and friends in one place. I only hope there will be enough room on the ship. Hoping for good weather as well. Definatly looking forward to the honeymoon ;) 2 weeks off! Whoo hoo! Just about the longest vacation I've ever had. A good long road trip will do both of us alot of good.

My sewing has been taking off quite well and I just met with a new lady who gave me an order for 25 skirts. It's great, you start sewing for one person and the next thing you know you are currently sewing for 3. I'm not complaining, it's actually kind of cool :) I just need to be done before October. Don't want anyone to have to wait until I get back for there stuff. That would be bad business.

Well off to get ready for the camping trip...

Camping [Jun. 4th, 2005|01:07 am]
Going camping this weekend at Twin Harbors near Tokeland, WA. The beach there is so nice and last time I went we found hundreds of sand dollars. Too many to take home :) The little mini forest and the dunes before the beach are quite wonderful as well. Very trippy to wander through. I'm hoping the weather is at least fair since I will be up most of the night looking at the stars and wandering the beach and such. Friends are coming along as well. It should be alot of fun. Getting to spend time with them at such a wonderful place.

VNV Nation tonight! Thursday May 26th @ The Showbox [May. 26th, 2005|12:10 am]
This makes me so happy :) We had to think about it for a while as money is tight right now but decided we should go out and have some fun. They were great when I saw them at the Catwalk. Both times. The last time even made me cry. Seriously. It will be interesting to see them tonight at The Showbox, since the place is much bigger and there's bound to be alot of people. Hmmm, what should I wear?

[mood | amused]

Isis
Indeed, you are 70% erudite, 79% sensual, 41% martial, and 62% saturnine.
This Egyptian supreme Goddess is certainly the most influential deity on subsequent cultures. She was the ideal figure of womanhood, usually compared with the Greek Goddess Demeter or her Roman version, Ceres.

Isis was one element of a Holy Trinity, the remaining two figures being her brother and husband Osiris and their heroic son Horus. She was the Goddess of Magic for her brilliance, as well as the Goddess of Love because of her tenacious devotion.

She is often shown with wings, curving to caress coffins and sarcophagi of many a king. In certain papyri she is shown with her falcon wing headdress, covering her ears. One of her sacred symbols is the sistrum, a musical instrument that was believed to ward off evil spirits. Isis' sistrum was carved bearing the image of a cat and was representative of the Moon.

Isis was the High Priestess and an omnipotent magician as well as the only being ever to discover the secret name of Ra. She invariably carries the ankh, the symbol for eternal life. Her name is, by the rules of numerology, adding up to the number “2” and she just so happens to be depicted on the tarot card “Key 2 – The High Priestess”.

It's been awhile since I've posted... [Mar. 29th, 2005|07:06 pm]
On March 6th I became officially engaged. This is not big news for some of you. No date set just yet but September would be nice. Ryan proposed in a wooded area of a park near our apartment. It was very sweet. The ring is beautiful, I really have no words to say how it makes me feel. All I know is that it is a very good feeling :) It's nice to know that I am really loved.

I also had my 33rd birthday on the 11th. I worked that day, it seemed very long. On the way home I stopped by and got some homemade birthday cupcakes from missreagan. The were delightfully yummy. My best friend definately knows how to treat me :) Ended up getting dressed up and going out dancing with wrmine, indisbelief and sweetdenial. First we went to the Vogue which was very slow and not too exciting. Then we wandered over to the Mercury. The music was much better. I can't remeber the last time I had so much fun dancing :) All In all I had can say I had a good birthday. Thanx to a wonderful fiance and good friends.

Went to moonday last night with indisbelief. Had alot of fun but we were both very tired. I had a couple of drinks and I don't think that helped my energy level any. Ended up leaving early and stopping by Dick's for burgers and fries. Boy were they good! Thankfully I woke up with no hangover or stomache ache. Lucky me :)

Today I have spent the day getting ready for our trip to Minesota. We leave tomarrow afternoon. It won't be a long trip. Ryan's grandfather has passed away. They are having a memorial service in his honour. He was a wonderful man that I had grown to love. He will be missed.

On a lighter note, it will be nice to see the family who I will soon officially become a part of. They are wonderful and I am proud to become part of them :)

I'll let everyone know how it went when I return.

What a week [Mar. 4th, 2005|11:22 pm]
Wow! Am I glad this one is over. This has been one of the most annoying, difficult, painful and energy draining weeks of my life. I just want to relax and not move for awhile. I know there's a few others out there that feel the same way. On top of that my back pain is back again and it is very, very intense this time. The episodes are lasting way longer than normal and are making me physically ill as well as very distressed. I really nead to figure out whats wrong, but you know doctors. They just give you pain killers and charge way too much $, with out giving you an answer. The painkillers and muscle relaxers don't seem to work for me anyway. They just make me feel funny which isn't all bad but...I just want to know what I have to do to fix the problem before it's too late and I end up a crippled old women :(

My weekend [Feb. 27th, 2005|09:25 pm]
[mood | full]
[music |Ghost in the Shell-SAC]

So, this weekend has been pretty low key. Got alot of sewing done. Found some neat purple metallic fabric the other day that looks alot like PVC but feels alot softer and is alot stretchier. Made a costume out of it. It turns out it is easy to sew with, which surprised me or I would have gotten more then. Next on my list is to get more before it is gone and make a catsuit that will actually fit my body. Also got alot of skirts and tops done for Presence. Donna was quite happy with them and will have more work for me on Tuesday.

Tonight Ryan and I went out to dinner which is something we rarely do. We ate at the Rialto out by greenlake. It was a quite tasty Italian restuarant but definately more of a relaxed atmosphere than we had expected. We do better with going out to breakfast.

Tomarrow brings more work for me. I hope this week is a good one...
